First of all Hi, as I've just joined. My NB is now 8 weeks old but I have a question regarding her crying and wanting, or trying not to sleep. When tired she loves to walk around the room with me. The walking motion seems to send her to sleep. However, after half an hour, I need to sit down with her but within a minute or so she senses this and starts to squirm around and cry. As soon as I stand and walk, she sleeps again. A friend suggested when I need to sit down and she cries, place her at the side of me while tapping her gently to let her know I am near, but be prepared as she will cry more. After 30 seconds or so hold in your arms again where she will calm down. If she cries, repeat the process until she realizes it is much more comforting to be in your arms than on the sofa, for instance. After 3 times this did work and my daughter fell happily asleep. But why do I feel so guilty for doing this? Is something telling me this is wrong. Sorry to ask, but I'm a new mom.
