I won't be sleeping tonight! My 4 month old has become very comfortable with rolling from back to tummy over the past few days. I went to check on her one last time before I went to bed last night, and she was on her tummy with her face completely facing down (toward the mattress). I don't know what to do or how to prevent this. I have an Angelcare monitor, but it didn't go off because she was still getting some oxygen apparently. She has a pretty firm mattress, sleeps in a sleep sack, and there is nothing loose in her crib/ no bumpers. She is pretty strong and able to lift her head, but maybe she was sleeping too deeply to notice. I am so worried about suffocation or SIDS. Could the lack of oxygen also cause brain damage? PLEASE help! I called her pediatrician, and the nurse suggested rolling blankets around her to keep her position. I always heard that was a hazard, so I have mixed feelings. What do you think? Thanks in advance!

you can rollup blankets and put them UNDER her sheet. try this at nap times first though to make sure she doesn't roll over it or end up pressing her face against it....if you don't like blankets a firmer option is a pool noodle! cut one in half and place it UNDER the sheet to hold it down.

honestly though i wouldn't stress about it too much! you are doing all the right things with the crib and sleep sack and monitor. SIDS is terribly sad, but there is only so much you can do! good luck!

My daughter did the same, she is now one. Try flipping them back over, or buy one of those molds to keep them from turning over. Good luck. By the way, my daughter still sleeps on her stomach, and I wake up and check through the night.
