husband still dresses my 7.5 year old step this normal?

He carries him from the shower, dries his hair, son lays on the bed while dad pulls on his unerwear, shorts, tee shirt, socks, etc. My step son can dress himself, but I think my husband doesnt want to admit the child is not a baby anymore. I can't bear to watch it, but it could be because as a single working mom of two sons, I encouraged independence early on. Is this normal?

If your stepson does not have special needs.... no, this is not 'normal'. I don't know anyone that would fully dress a 7.5 year old unless that child has developmental delays of some sort. I do dress my 4.5 year old son on occasion, but he does it himself more often than not now. My girls were dressing themselves (with help on buttons, etc...) at 2. I definitely babied my son more, but even HE was doing some of his own dressing at 2-3.

If I'm in a hurry, I'll dress my 7 year old daughter. Have you tried asking your husband why he dresses his son? Maybe his son takes a long time? Doesn't really seem like a big deal to me.
