My daughter Serena is 3 and a half years old. I work with people who have special needs as my job but I was in total denial at first that anything was wrong with MY daughter even when other people were mentioning that she wasn't picking up speech fast enough and other things at a young age. It's just so different learning about what parents go through and actually going through it yourself. Serena is socially immature for her age and gets overwhelmed in social situations to the point of screeching, she has an oral fixation meaning she puts EVERYTHING in her mouth, spits, plays with food after it's been in her mouth ect. and hoards toys. She carries around many small toys/household objects with her and gets extremely paranoid throughout the day that a child is going to touch them. I could go on and on but I wont. I'm really looking for any advice I can get from anyone out there going through similar things as I am. It's very difficult because I feel like my energy is constantly going into her needs because she cannot do anything without me. I'M EXHAUSTED! What do I do?
