My son is 2.5 years old his father left us when he was 2months old he has never formed a bond with him due to him being a complete dead beat in every way Ive tried many times to get him to be in his life I even took him to court for custody and support visitation was put in place as well as support and he still does not participate in his life yet he fights me in court to not pay support it makes me sick!! Now my son wants to know about daddy and im not sure what to say to him , he does have father figure in his life my boyfriend who has been by my side since he was 13months .I'm just not sure what to say to him clearly his dad has no interest to be in his life he has already brought 2 different girls to court and is expecting another child who he will probably have nothing to do with he also has an 11 year old daughter he hasnt seen since she was four. Help I dont want my son to be damaged because of his dead beat dad!

You don't ever tell him his father has no interest in him. He will eventually figure that out for himself, there is no need for you to put down his dad to him. Instead, explain to your son that his dad was not really ready to be a daddy right now, so it was best for him that he just have a mummy at the moment. Let him know that this is the way it works sometimes, and that you are sure his daddy thinks about him even though he was not ready to be a daddy.
