Hi my 4 y.o. is going in for bilateral undescended testicles tomorrow. His doctor said this was a common procedure should be done in 1 hr to 1 1/2. She seems to know what shes doing but what worries me is the anesthesia . They didnt order any pre-op blood work just said he didnt need them. In my family we have never had any reaction to anesthesia but from my husband side no one has had surgery. How do I know it wont affect him? Im super nervous crying all night im a big mess!! Am I exaggerating or is this normal for being a mother 24 y.o.? Im worried he wont wake up or that something can happen during the surgery? Please help.

Perhaps I'm not the best person to be handing out words of wisdom after all my daughter hasn't yet had any procedures where anesthesia was involved. But, I can say that your anxieties are perfectly normal! It's extremely difficult to put your faith in others when it comes to the health of your children. Just take a deep breath and remember that your son will be in the hands of professionals and will be very closely monitored. Just make sure to answer all of the anesthesiologist's questions accurately and follow their instructions so that they can provide the absolute best care for your son. I am sure everything will go smoothly! Be strong and Hang in there Mama!
