My son has been diagnosed with GHD.. he is in 7th grade and 4'6 maybe a bit smaller . After years of asking his Dr if he was ok and getting told he was a late bloomer we jsut decided to seek testing and found that he is indeed having an issue and not anywhere near the growth chart standards and his peers. He has been bullied for years about this and he is tired of it. we have always encouraged him to ignore and rise above he gets straight A s and is on several sports teams but has been looked over by adult coaches because they think he is too little or younger that he actually is. So looking into everything now . Dr said he has to have a sedation mri anyone have this done with their kids? should I be worried ? How often do they find tumors on pituitary gland? Also worried we are starting this too late. I'm not tall BTW only 5'3 and my husband 5'7 so that might be the problem too, but the Dr said he is a good candidate for GH shots... Please any hope , answers for us would be amazing.
