My son is 17 years old and is flunking at college! and the worst part is he really is not worried. He's not even afraid of getting kicked out of school. I really don't know what to do with him. Taking his gadgets doesn't scare him, I don't know what does. I even heard him saying he wants to live alone play games and watch movies for the rest of his life. Is there something wrong with him? like psychologically?

Actually, I disagree that if there are psychological issues a parent would know about them earlier than 17. Sometimes things happen that can trigger issues at this age, whether it be anxiety or depression. It may be worth talking to his school and seeing if he could have a referral to the school counsellor to see if there may actually be something bothering him, as this may simply be a symptom of something less obvious.

So let him get kicked out and live on his own. He'll learn real fast that in order to pay any bills or buy any food he has to have a JOB.

If he has psychological issues you should have known about it much younger than 17...
