My son finally started to take his ADD meds by swollowing his pill. This past week he has refused to take it. He realizes that his days are much better when he takes them. Opening them up and mixing with something, turned into a constant battle. Bribery and taking away privileges has not worked. He wont tell me why he doesnt want to take them.

try alternative medicine herbs etc. Pharma meds are not healthy your son instinctively knows this. We need to listen to our kids when they refuse medication.

We have an appointment set up with a therapist. Have tried PCI therapy. I was getting so frustrated because he was getting so destructive, and bouncing off the walls. After about a week, my sweet 6 y.o. boy returned and we were able to talk. They were making him sick to his stomach and giving him a headache. Thanks for your input

Cheryl, meds are not a solution for ADHD. I assume that he is supposed to take Ritalin.

How old is your son?

Please be aware that you can only see the outside - your son is calmer. But the fact that he refuses to take the pills also indicates that he feels that they take something away from him.

This is actually quite good - it means he will be much more open to the idea of working on therapy projects, learning to handle his disorder without drugs.
