Ok. I'm supposed to be 16 weeks pregnant today according to my midwife based on LMP of 7/30/12. She used the doppler today and couldn't get a heartbeat and said based on where my uterus is I could be much less pregnant than we think. I had implantation bleeding 9/10 so she thinks I may be more like 11 weeks. How is this possible?! I've never heard of that big a variation and I'm not Ok with waiting another 4 weeks for a check... We were going to have an ultrasound soon to check gender but it sounds like that's on hold for a long while... any advice?

Thanks ladies. There's no way I can wait another 4 weeks. I feel like I don't even know if I'm pregnant. I'm really small for being around 15-16 weeks. It's my first time with a midwife she comes to my house and does not have an ultrasound. We have to pay out of pocket for everything so I'm trying to hold out if I can. I will call around to get pricings for ultrasounds I don't even know where to go!

At the beginning of my current pregnancy (I'm 28 weeks), we weren't sure how far along I was because I had been on birth control for 3 years and was waiting to have my first period when we found out that I was pregnant. The midwife sent me to the hospital to find out exactly how far along I was. Your doctor should have done that right away. That is just way too big of a difference to be taking that long to have an ultrasound.

We had a very hard time locating my 2nd son's heartbeat until around 20 weeks, but I had had a couple of ultrasounds prior to that so we knew that I was actually pregnant and that the baby was ok. I am actually surprised that your o/b didn't order an ultrasound, because, yeah, a 4 week difference is big. It has been my experience that if there is any doubt about how far along you are, the o/b will order an ultrasound to get an accurate reading. Definitely call back and ask for an ultrasound.

I would call and ask if you can have a vaginal ultrasound now to measure and see how far along you are. I had that done when I first found out I was pregnant with both my kids. That is quite a huge difference 1 whole month to be off.
