Hi All , looking to see if anyone has experience on this one .
For over a year now my eight year old has been experiencing stomach pain at night & every night . Doctor originally thought she was suffering from stomach migraines & put her on medication ( which didn't help) she is now seeing a paediatrician & has been since January this year , so far she has had blood tests , food intolerance tests & has been taking Movicol three times a day as per paediatrician as he initially thought her bowels were not working properly ... Anyway ..it's got to the stage where her bowels are fine but she still gets the sore tummy at night and now the paediatrician is not returning my calls . We don't go back and see him till August . I hate seeing her in this constant pain and nothing seems to be helping her.
Has anyone experienced this before with their child ?
Thanks in advance ,

My son had problems with his stomach every night it was because he has anxiety problens. It happened around a time he had some anxieties around school, so at night when there was nothing to distract him keep him busy they flared up because that's all he would be thinking about.

Interesting, if it's around her belly button. That's lower than her stomach, which means it probably isn't cramping stomach (one of my daughter's issues). Sounds more gut-related. Has she tried a probiotic supplement? I'm sorry to hear she is going through this and I hope you find a solution soon! Gluten in my daughter presented with bloating, burping/farting, stomach pain, bowel issues, reflux and then gum pain. Doesn't sound at all like your daughter. I'm thinking of you.

Hi Eden ,
Thanks for your reply !
Maybe an idea to try it any way even though the test came back clear . Her pain is always around the belly button area , no bloating . Sometimes she has this pain during the day but always has it a night ?

Hi Amy ,
Thanks for your reply.
My daughter loves going to school and no issues regarding anything else . I'll have a read about anxiety see if it relates to anything .

We did and it mostly turned out to be a gluten issue. We just tried removing gluten from her diet (less hard than I thought) and within 2 weeks she was symptom free. I realize you have had the food intolerance tests, but maybe just trying removing a type of food (like gluten, or dairy) and give it a couple weeks of real dedication to see if it helps? I know my kid's issue may not be your kid's, but just sharing what worked for our own child's problems. Is it actually her stomach (high in belly), or somewhere else in her abdomen? Is she also bloated at night or after eating something in particular? (I'm no doctor.)
