My doctor recently suggested that I switch my daughters formula to Similac Soy after having trouble with the Advanced and Sensetive. I am having uneasy feelings about using soy formula after reading all the negative long term effects it could possibly cause. I'm am wondering should I have tried a hypoallergenic formula first, or should I keep using this formula ( it does seem to be helping) and disregard the negative research.

Did the doctor determine a milk allergy? I am personally not a fan of Soy products unless absolutely the last resort. If it is the only formula that is working ,you may not have a choice. BUT I would be trying to figure out WHY a hypoallergenic formula and WHAT allergy your child may have (or sensitivity)

There is nothing wrong with soy formula. If it is working then don't change. Two of my kids used soy formula....my oldest is 18 yrs. Nothing wrong with him. I was on soy formula myself as a baby.....nothing wrong with me and I am 40.
