Special Needs (Handwriting)

I have a special needs child who still struggles with handwriting which I have to assist with hand over hand trace still with writing name (letters and numbers). Are there any special tools or others methods I should utilize or give a try? Does any one have any suggestions please....... ? Thank you so much.......

it really depends how old your child is. If he/she is struggling with handwriting there are probably other issues as well. The schools should recommend some Occupational therapy as well as other therapies.However a good handwriting program for all children is handwriting without tears. This is a program that starts with the basics and works on forming shapes and then letters all the way up to cursive writing.

Hello! Belinda Hodren thank you for responding. My child is much older 11 years old of age and it's still a constant struggle. I have done everything to try and reinforce her to reach her academic abilities. I questioned even myself if I am doing something wrong.Yes there are other issues as well and she does receives occupational and speech therapy from the school. However but still no progress on her writing abilities. Thanks I will give the handwriting without tears definitely a try.
