Starting my 5 and a half month on solids!

Hi, I'm still in no fixed routine with my 5 and a half month old. He's not too keen on baby cereal or maybe I'm feeding him at wrong times? He had bottle this morn at 7:45 and took 6oz of it, I tried him with some cereal at 9am and he was blowing raspberries at me but then he took a few spoons, a while later he vomited, I'm wondering now did I force too much on him too soon? Like when should I be feeding him? Anyone have a good routine to share? Thanks. Vickie

I agree with moms here . Pl dont start solids up untill ur baby is 6 months old . I started at around 7 months . I started with morning feed . 1 spoon per day per week and went up to 5 spoons . First bf or formula n then solids for fun . Then same thing with evening feed . 1 spoon per day and went up to 5 sppons . For a month i was giving only 2 feeds 8 am n 6pm.each feed Not more than 8 sppons . By 6 to 8 weeks i slowly reached 4 feeds per day . I also gave boiled cooled water 5 spoons after solid feeds . Take care .

He may just not be ready for it. When you first start on solids, it is really only for practice, so a routine isn't necessary. Maybe just try a teaspoon each day for fun, and take it from there.
