I'm just so confused when it comes to starting foods. I have a 4 month old who's already been on rice cereal for reflux.. and I'm wondering if I can continue the cereal but add a vegetable along with it to make it two foods a week? Like oats and sweet potato.. etc.? Or should I only be giving her the cereal for a bit longer and wait for another new one at a later date?

Thanks in advance

I started my little guy on rice cereal last month and he has graduated to veggies. He is five months old and he loves it. But he gets it everyday, hes a little porker :) but yeah i think its ok to give your little one rice cereal with a little bit of veggies it just gets them used to the idea.

k first your going to geta bunch "what docors say" answers and if they work for you thats great I myslf am NOT a "By The Book" mommy. I say go for it, add mabe some fruit with her oatmeal. most babies love apples and even though they all love bananas, bananas re very gassy. I let mine have them only because he absolutley LOVES them but like i said LOTS of GAS lol. Stage One babfoods are great for starting in solids. the recomendation for knowing when to start your baby on solids is this- if they are a supported sitter, and they seem interested in it like when your eating if they lean towards the spoon and look like they are hungry then try it out. If your a "book" mom then im not sure when you should strat but if your a mom like me then she will let you know when shes ready.
My lil man is 2 months old and VERY advanced, he was born more alert than ive seen a baby be and he was holding his head up after 20 minutes. now at 2 months he IS a supported sitter and he loves his baby foods! I let him eat half a lil jar about every 3 days. i dont let him have a whole jar because i breastfeed and I would rather him not get to attached to skippping a breastfeeding for his baby foods! oh he also loves green beans. god luck and remember im only one mom others may do something different so wait for more answers before making your final decision.
