staying on task.

My son has problems off an on at school with staying on task. How can I help him make a change to be successful and last longer. He's 6 and told me his brain tells him to do other things and thats why he can't stay on task..what to do???

He sounds like a pretty typical 6 year old. Heck, I teach at high school, and often find the Year 7 boys are still like this. It is pretty typical for any task longer than 20 minutes not to hold their attention.

One thing I would suggest is to make sure you are limiting his TV and electronic games times. This can lead to lower levels of concentration.

I wouldn't be to worried, he is 6. I have 3 boys and the brains are always all over the place. Try playing a game, give him something to do, and reward him if he stays on task. Just a thought..

Jodi he just got ipad for Christmas and seems that's when it started I will start right now limiting there ipad time .Tanya also said play games and reward him for staying on task. Things I will do. Thanks lady's
