Why is she getting food in the middle of the night? Have you talked to her about her reasons?

Instead of punishing her for it have you told her what she can snack on if she wakes and is hungry? Have you gotten her up to clean up her mess when you wake up and see it?

My teenagers do not get up in the middle of the night, but they frequently go to bed late and usually eat before going to bed. No big deal to me. I wouldn't punish them for being hungry, but I WILL make them clean the kitchen when it's a mess.

Locks on the fridge, freezer and cupboards?
What is her reason for eating during the night?
I wouldn't call it "stealing" food since she is your child that lives in your house and it's your responsibility to feed her.
You need to find out why she is doing it instead of just punishing her.
