I stayed with friends the night before my wedding, not with my parents. As the other ladies pointed out he's an adult, and by the way it's his wedding stop making him choose! Put your feelings aside for one day and let him enjoy everyone!

I agree with the other ladies and ask him what he wants to do.
Have you thought that he may want to be with his Dad the night before? His Fiance may stay with her parents and then he may want to say at his place with the groomsmen as well. It's his day, let him do what he wants without feeling guilty of hurting someone's feelings.

Ask him what he wants to do and support whatever he chooses. I can't believe you both asked a grown man to stay at 'mommy's house' the night before his wedding. Asked if he WANTED to would be one thing... but ask him to do it? Weird....

What does HE want to do?

Instead of both of you making it a moral dilemma for him, perhaps asking what HE wishes is best...

FYI, when my husband and I married, we also lived together. My mother assumed that I'd stay at her home the night before the wedding, which was absolutely ridiculous, IMO, because I am an adult, and was at the time. My husband and I decided that we would not share a room that night, but that was it. I'd have been beyond upset had my mother insisted, and if my step had stepped in at that point, I'd have been flat pissed off.
