Hi everyone, I was just wondering if anyone else bled for this long?

At 4 weeks after birth a had a very heavy bleed and was taken to hospital for suspected hemmorage they made me feel stupid and said it's just my period and sent me on my way.

The prob is the bleeding still hadsnt stopped I went to my 6 week check and she sent me for blood tests but I've heard nothing back. The bleed is now getting a bit of a smell (sorry for tmi) and I'm getting worried but feel stupid going back to docs because she didn't seem that interested?

Hi Kate...how are you feeling? I hope everything went well for you at your doctors appointment a couple weeks ago...it's already hard enough trying to recover from a birth with no post partum complications...can't imagine trying to care for a newborn with your tank leaking fuel

Smelly discharge of any kind is an indication of an infection... Which can be very bad after birth cause your still not quite closed up and healed yet...it's like an open wound that's continues to bleed and won't stop...risk for bacteria and infection are high

That's a problem if it's starting to smell...and I don't understand them telling you that the reason for the stretch and amount of bleeding is your period...If I were you I would definitely get a second opinion

After my 2nd child I bled for 4 months. We worked it out that I would bleed as long as I breastfed. It did stop at 4 months even though I fed him for 6 months though.
