Hi moms, I have a 4yr old son who cried for more than an 1hour on monday. After all we took him to mediclinic just before 24h00 and Dr said that's he constipated. Well we got some meds really doesn't taste nice. On tuesday morning he didn't want to go to creche as he said his tummy is still sore. As mothers we all concerned so I kept him for the day at home, so upset as he never cried after that about his sore tummyand played most of the day. At night when we talked about the pain he has well the crying started again. This morning when we all got up for work the pain was there again as he cried and after all we got something out that he didn't wanted to go to creche as the teacher said on monday he should sleep! Well I'm so confused now as whenever I talk about his tummy or school he would cry, and hold on to his tummy saying its sore. Please help as I know kids as sometimes pulling a snag, but the ters just wouldn't stop .

Hi Maja, thank you for your time and effort, much appreciated. He is sleeping now, will try to calm him and then try your advice. Thank you so much. Enjoy your evening.

Ah poor little buddy. It sounds like he found out that the tummy ache keeps him at home. So he's using that excuse so he doesn't have to go to school. You need to just talk to him, ask him what he's afraid of, what bothers him etc. If the issue really is him not wanting to sleep you can approach it by explaining things to him. That all kids are sleeping and that he can at least be a good boy and maybe just have a quiet time while others are sleeping. That it is ok if he can't sleep so maybe he can just read a book or something.. In general tell him that it's ok, there is no need to be scared/worried etc. Then also I'd talk to the teacher and make him/her aware of the issue. They should be able to work with him. Some kids his age simply don't need a nap anymore and the school needs to work with those kids accordingly. It just looks like he needs a little tlc and explanation. Good luck!
