Ok so I have tried to look up weather or not i could store left over Gerber Oatmeal cereal. When i was looking for answers i had read that due to the siliva touching the rest of the food you couldnt save it and store. well i had an idea, i know that with the jars of baby food if you take only a little bit you can store the rest in the fridge so what if i made some oatmeal in one container and put a little in another and put the rest in the fridge. would that work and would i have to heat it up and how long i can save it for. any comments would be great.

I think that if you keep the portion that you are saving separate from the portion you are feeding your little one, just as you described--put a little in a small bowl to feed from and store the rest untouched--you can save the oatmeal for about 24 hours. POSSIBLY 48 hours, but I'm not really sure. Like Sarah said, the consistency does change over a pretty short period of time.

From my experience baby oatmeal tends to get more runny as time goes on. So storing would not work very well.
