Define 'strict'.

I set boundaries and my child knows exactly what those boundaries are; they are most certainly enforced. I don't think that is strict but merely active parenting. Meanwhile, she has plenty of opportunity to play and express herself; we talk about the reasons why something may not be allowed or may not be a good idea when it's an appropriate moment and not simply a case of her negotiating in order to stall for time. I don't just bark a 'no' and leave it at that.
