I would give her a sippy cup with water in it. Do it when she is sitting in her high chair for meals. At first she will probably just play with it, but once she figures out that she can get something out of it she will start to drink from it some. Then when she turns 1 yrs. you can put whole milk in the sippy. Once my daughter figured how to drink from the sippy I would breastfeed only when she got up in the morning and before she went to bed at night. During the daytime milk (whole milk) was in her sippy cup. Once they turn 1 yrs old then their milk intake on what they need goes down as now food becomes more of an importance. About 3 glasses of milk a day is all they need. If you have not bought any sippy cups yet the one I liked the best for when they were starting out is by Playtex it has a clear silicone part where you drink from. I skipped all the ones that are like bottle nipples as my daughter never liked the bottle.

What's wrong with her still nursing? Not a thing!

Now... if you want to be done for a specific reason.... You can start introducing a sippy cup now (with water). Then at a year you can give cow's milk in the sippy. Just start cutting down on her feeds by using distraction (the sippy, a toy, whatever). That may or may not actually help depending on your determination to quit and her determination to keep going. ;)

If you want to wean only because you think it's what you are supposed to do at this age... it is actually recommended by the WHO to nurse til 2 years or beyond as breast milk is HIGHLY beneficial for a growing toddler.

She'll soon be at an age where she can drink from a sippy cup. I'd skip the bottle, and go straight onto weaning onto a cup.

You might need to leave the house a bit and have someone else try and feed her. If she's really hungry she'll drink. It's hard but when she knows you're there she'll want the breast. Maybe also wrap the bottle in one of your shirts so she can smell you?!

You can actually start working and then just nurse when the two of you are together. I don't know how that works from personal experience, but I hear lots of women talk about it and it works for them.
