Suggestions on convincing the spouse that it's time for another addition to the family.

I am a 30-year old mom with 3 children, 2 almost turning 7 & 5 soon, & the 3rd one is just 16 months. I've always wanted a big family, so I've been trying to convince my husband to have another baby while we still can or before I hit 35. He has bluntly told me that it's too much work for him & that he does NOT ever want to have any more kids. I give him daily hints and jabs about another addition, but how do I really get him to get on the same page as me?? I am very happy and grateful for our kids now, but really looking to add another one doesn't seem appeasing to my husband. Please help with suggestions?

Count your blessings with the 3 you have and let it go. It sounds to me like your husband definitely does not want another child. The hints and jabs are only going to drive a wedge in your marriage.

I have 2 and would love a 3rd. My husband feels the same as yours. I've told him how monumentally unfair it is that I can't decide by myself that we are going to have another one, yet he can decide by himself that we won't have another one. I'm almost 34 now and feel the time ticking away. If it doesn't happen in the next year or so, I can't see it happening at all. It makes me so sad because we always said we'd have 3, then after the second one he changed his mind. It doesn't help that both our families are against us having another one. They all say kids are so expensive. We support our kids, and do okay. To me, I look at any cost of raising children as an investment in your life, your future, your happiness, and love. It's worth the money and sleepless nights because they are such a joy. It worries me as my youngest nears 2 because even if we got preggo now they'd be so much further apart in age than my 1st and 2nd (they were 22m apart). If you get a good answer, please let me know. :-(
