I need some suggestions. Whenever my parents come over or when we go out to dinner or shopping my kids go crazy. They love their grandparents and they flip out. They almost don't know how to control themselves. My girls are 4 and 2 and they are very well behaved and no how to act at a resturant and even at home. But when they come over or we go out it is like they are different kids. I don't want my parents to think this how my kids are all the time and I don't want my kids to know that they can be crazy when they are around. Today we went shopping with my mom and my girls and my little one instantly starts to whine and compain and want to be held by my mom when they were was just happy and content before my mom got there. I need some suggestions on what to do when the grandparents are present and the kids get wild and crazy.

My dad would have spanked the kid himself. Not saying I'd have put up with it. There is a Berenstein Bear book about manners, I'm not sure which one it is, but it dealt with kids throwing a temper tantrum in the store, so they just scooped the kid up and took them home, they worked out an appropriate solution for all involved. But Bearenstein Bear books are good for that age anyways.

Do the same thing you would do if your parents aren't there. If they start whining, get onto them. If they start acting crazy, discipline them.
