K, so I had BIG problems concieving. My OB who is a fertility specialist confirmed the ovulation vs timing of sperm thing. I knew (just by my ovulation chart) what each of my children would be after I concieved. Male sperm is fast and it dies with in 24 hours. So to concieve a boy, you should have intercourse the day before or day of ovulation. Female sperm is slow and steady~~~ go girls~~~. So for a girl, have intercourse 48-60 hours before expected ovulation and not again until ovulation is complete. I'm sure you already know how to chart cervical mucas and positioning/softness to make sure you are at peak ovulation. Good luck. Hope you have a beautiful babydollly!

Quoting Tara:

My husband and I didn't try any special moves, or look up any calenders. (Even though I would peek). I found a site that talked about trying a few days before you ovulate for a girl, and up to a day before, for a boy. I did do this method and I am having a girl in April. I have 2 boys at home now and didn't do this with them. Good luck.

I agree with Tara.  I never knew when I ovulated, my first two kids were boys.  Just so happened with my third I ovulated the day after and I knew imediately I had ovulated and I was having a girl.  I have my little girl (who is now 12).  Something about male sperm swims so fast toward egg that it dies out quickly while the female takes her time.  Good luck!

I believe that is up to your husband. I have heard of different positions (fun, but not reliable). Good luck. Have fun. Just think when your boys are ready to date and then marry you will have plenty of girls around.

Oh ya, I also did this chinese astrology thing when I was pregnant and it asked how old you were when you got pregnant, the due date, and how old you will be when shes due. It calculated the chances of a boy or girl, and mine was 75% chance of having a girl. I know its not about conceiving but thought you would like it anyway. I think it was on Parents.com.

Uh - the only way to make sure is to have your ob/gyn spin your husband's sperm to remove the female sperm. I have three boys and read that book the last time on how to get a girl. I can't remember the name of it, but you can find it easily on the internet. We did everything exactly by the book, but it only increases the chances to 75%. We were the other 25% who still got the boy, so I can say for sure you need science on your side if you want to make absolutely sure. My husband wouldn't go for it, so we have stopped trying!

ok this sounds really silly but as i looked back at this I realize that with my children and my nephews and neices it seems to be pretty accurate.http://www.webwomb.com/chinesechart.htm. I usually dont believe that things like that are accurate or even possible but it earily is. check it out and see how well it works with your sons and see if it is something maybe you want to try.. :) good luck!

Lol....This is great. I just worked it out for my son and it was correct! I want a girl next time, so by the chart that means I'll have to fall pregnant this month, which we are trying to do. Fingers crossed.

Im sure you know that sex is decided by the sperms dna makeup, but old wives tales are always fun and I myself can be a little supersticious sometimes. I have heard that if the woman is on top you get a girl and if the woman is on the bottom, a boy. Sorry thats the olny one I know.
