Our baby is 4 1/2 months old and we still have to swaddle her, if we don't she struggles to fall asleep. Should we try to break her of this or should we just let her grow out of it?

Just let her grow out of it on her own. She is obviously most comfortable this way. She will eventually take the blanket off or move around so much while she is sleeping, it will come undone.

I would just let her grow out of it. That's what I did with my son. It got to the point where he was breaking out of the swaddle pretty much every night, so I just started swaddling him more and more loosely, and then we transitioned to a sleepsack/grobag type of thing.

I wouldn't worry about trying to break her of it -- she'll probably break herself of it just fine.

I don't see why you'd need to break her of it, unless she's getting too big for the blanket to stay wrapped. When my son was about that age we started using sleepsacks (Halo brand). We used them right up until he moved into a double bed at two.

if that's how she's comfortable then keep doing it. it's nothing that's going to hurt her or become a "habit" that you'll have to break her of...she'll soon not like being wrapped tight (most likely once she begins to move around more in her sleep). if you do want to stop try continuing the swaddle but every couple of days just loosen it a bit - this will give her time to adjust to not being wrapped so tight. gl! :)
