I made the ultimate decision today to switch to formula. My milk production is to low to switch my 6 mo old to a bottle and my fiancé and I really want to be able to spend more time together. I'm already struggling more than my baby with the switch my body is telling me to feed my little man and I can already tell I'm feeling defeated not being able to produce enough for my babe and having to switch. Can this cause me to get postpartum depression? That is my biggest fear.

I don't know specifically that it can cause ppd, but I know it made me sad. It is hard. I stopped with my daughter at 15 months old. It is also hard on your body. If you are not fully ready to stop, you could always supplement with formula and do 1-2 feedings per day. But if your supply is already diminishing, keeping that up might be a challenge. But it would be more of a natural ween for the both of you.
