i have a friend who, for the most part, i can be pretty honest with. i believe there is something mentally wrong with her son. she can see things when other people's children have a behavioral issue or a mental problem but she doesn't seem to see it in her own child. this child is 5 years old, has very little idea how to play on his own, u can't understand about 95 % of what he says, he will randomly say a word or 2 but it is hard to understand what he means. simple directions or questions like turn around, behind u, pick that up, over there, count, saying the ABC's he will just stand there and look at u like u spoke 10 languages at the same time or he will say what a hundred times, or ok, or just repeat what u said and still not do it.
how do i get her to see this without making her hate me for the rest of my life? i have tried to talk to her but she just seems to brush me off or ignores anything i say. any ideas? anyone?

If he is starting school soon they will make their own assessments and make her aware.

The kid is more important then if she likes you or not. She is frightened, but denial won't help her son. She has already waited too long if his behaviors are that obvious. You can't be the only one who see this.
I don't know where you live, but in most places there are out reach programs. Early interventions. If you suspect a child has issues, you can call and give information. They will talk with the parent, do an assessment.
Google Head Start and such early intervention programs where you live.
