I am nursing my 11 week-old daughter and she is quite gassy and now has a cold. Has anyone given their babies organic, caffeine-free tea? Was thinking of making a light peppermint and/or ginger tea.

If you are eating things like broccoli, that can be very gassy for the baby. I was gonna take anti-gas products like beano when I was bfing my little ones, and I was advised by the pharmacist not to. If the foods you are eating are gassy, avoid them and see how that helps.

Okay, thank you both. Would it help if I ate more ginger or took beano? I am not a vegetarian, however I do eat a lot of vegetarian dishes.

No. Do not give your baby anything but breast milk or formula. If you are giving her formula you may need to change brands, or formulations. If you are bfing, you may need to look at what you are eating and eliminate foods that are creating gas issues.

No a 11 wk old baby should ONLY have breastmilk or formula. Their tummies and digestive system is not fully developed yet, so you can cause harm by giving anything else.
