I have a soon to be 13 year old daughter....ugh....she is on her phone ALOT. She listens to music and watches O2L videos and stays hold up in her room. I know part of that is being a teenager, they like to hang out in their rooms.

What kind of limitations do you have your tweens and teens on with regard to their phones?

I wouldn't be allowing the phone in her room. My son is nearly 13 and he doesn't even have a phone. If he gets caught using his iPad when told not to it gets taken away.
You need to set the rules and stick to them. Yes she can go to her room but she doesn't need her phone.

She did pretty good last night and didn't give us a hard time when we told her to cut out her phone use. She usually listens to music on her iphone when she goes to bed and last night I said no, you can leave it in your room charging (on the other side of the room) and I explained to her that I trust her not to get on it and not to ruin that trust because it's hard to recover from it. Last night, I told her if she needed noise to go to the sleep, we can turn on her TV with the sleep timer on.....no problems.

Thanks for the advice/support Michelle!
