Hi i am a 17 year old girl, i have a sister who was a teen mom and i know many people who are also. I added myself onto this site to ask anyone out their how they feel about how teen mothers are treated compared to normal aged i guess mothers. I feel they are treated like they are going to be bad parents and all their options are bad ones, i want to ask who makes a mother who is 25 or so better than a teen. I see many parents that should be and i see like my sister amazing parents reather or not she is a teenager...
Thank you and i hope i get some replies. :)

Personally, I wouldn't say that having a child as a teen is the wisest choice you can make. However, that doesn't mean you are a worse parent in any way. There are bad parents of all ages. However, in general, your challenges will be greater than a mother who is older.

My advice to teen girls overall is that the purpose of sex is for procreation, and that there is no such thing as 100% protection. If you make the decision to have sex, don't do it for the wrong reasons (i.e. peer pressure, boyfriend pressure, attention). Love yourself more than that. Also, educate yourself about birth control and if you make the choice that you truly love someone enough to be intimate with, USE IT.

Finish school, finish college (if that is your path), establish some life skills and THEN consider having a baby. It is so much more difficult to support a child on your own if you don't have these things. Not impossible, but extremely difficult.

Advice to a teen mum would be go back to school. Finish school. Work towards some skills. And USE BIRTH CONTROL, educate yourself about it properly. Learn from your mistake. If it happens twice, it is not a mistake, it is carelessness. If you deliberately got pregnant at such a young age, then you have issues. Resolve them.

Sorry if that sounds harsh. It has nothing to do with how good a teen parent can be. It has everything to do with making smarter choices.
