Teen with an attitude

I have a 13 year old male that has had an attitude every since graduation from 8th grade. He thinks that he is now grown and can go and come when he wants to without my permission. So, my first thoughts is to change my locks, so he doesn't have a key to get in after my set time for him to come inside. Does any one have any suggestions?

Does he have any gaming systems or other electronic devices? Do you make any food for him, do his laundry, or drive him anywhere (other than school)? if so... take away his things and stop doing things for him completely. Let him know that there are privileges AND responsibilities to being a teenager and if he can't handle the responsibilities (listening to and respecting his mother... not taking off just whenever he wants... letting you know where he is, who he is with, and when he will be home, etc...) then he doesn't get any of the privileges.

If he thinks he can come and go as he wants I have a feeling that locking him out may just keep him from coming home at all. When is it that he is leaving and how is he getting out in the first place?
