This is something I only recently heard of for the first time. Son (13), told me he was hurt in school, but that it was embarrassing to talk about. He's a pretty sensible kid, knows how to stay out of trouble etc. and usually when anything happens he's comfortable talking about it. He said he wasn't badly hurt but I still wanted to know what happened, so he told me that someone gave him a 'titty twister'. I honestly hadn't heard of this before, and I still don't rightly know what it is, I'm just guessing from the name. I think he feels embarrassed to talk to me about this because he'd have to explain the whole thing to me. Has anyone else ever heard of/ experienced this with boys? Are 'titty twisters' a common thing? Should I ask him any more about it?

Boys are weird and gross sometimes. Especially in packs. I'd let it be unless he keeps complaining or there is verbal cruelty or he is targeted. Sadly we had one boy in one of my daughter's class who was a little chunky and the boys would tease him and give him "t.t" on his "moobs" which I eventually realized was the term for "man boobs"
No such thing as a stupid question.

Grab the nipples and twist. Have you watched the movie "The Pacifier", with Vin Diesel? In that one, it's called a "nipple crippler".

Its a boy thing. Not sure why, but it seems they all go through this stage. Tell him to give as good as he gets, and move forward, unless it is a bullying situation.

Teenagers seem to get great joy in causing each other pain for fun... I don't know if that's the case of what happened or if he's being bullied though. There is definitely a difference.

Yes, titty twisters are pretty common. Kids are weird.

LOL...the scary thing is...I've been voted 'coolest mom'...mainly because I can top them in the bathroom humor department. Survival instincts and all, ya know?

I agree! Between the bathroom humor, odd odors and weird rituals, definitely not completely human.

Honestly, after raising mine, I'm convinced the male of the species may, in fact, have some alien genes...LOL

Don't think its a bullying situation to be honest, think it might just be a case of someone with a bad sense of humour, I know kids can be weird like this. I know I'm asking the stupidest questions here but I still want to fully clarify what usually happens when someone gets a titty twister...I presume its some kind of pinching?
