First, sorry, but I'm a dad, not a mom but this seemed like a very good resource, so thank you for not kicking me out???

Married now over 6 years to a widow of 3, currently 13 (girl), 11 and 9 (boys). HELP!!!! Around her friends and school, she's wonderful but around home, Girl is mean, self-centered, nasty to mom, nasty to brothers. In a short note, I can't say all the things we've tried but we've tried a lot! The article that came out yesterday describes the similar situation from a mom's perspective of her step kids (except for switching sexes and no biological father).

Gratefully,
Rick

Hi Rick. I don't have a teenage daughter (she's still small), but I was once a teenage girl. She sounds very angry and resentful, I'm guessing at losing her father and having a "replacement" dad in you. Have you tried family counseling? Sounds like you need a professional to help.
