Teenage daughter just lost friend in accident

My beautiful 14 year old daughter is stricken with grief. She has just lost a male friend in a motorcycle accident. I can't stop crying with her. She has already been through too much for a young girl and has a heart of gold. I would appreciate advice as to how best to console and comfort her. He had the accident after leaving our house and we both feel responsible knowing intellectually it wasn't our fault we still can't stop the "what ifs".......heartbroken!!!

You should continue being there for her . I lost a friend about 2 years ago , i was always crying . My mom NEVER helped me through it . I hated her so much cause she wouldn't defend me when my stepdad & brothers would laugh , & say it was my friends fault . My friend got killed by her boyfriend . He ran her over & i still cannot believe it or get over it , but good thing i met my husband , & he helped me through it . Your daughter is lucky to have a mom like you . I want to be there for all my kids unlike my mother . Good luck , & just know that he is in a better place .
