Please help I have a 16 1/2 year old son who is failing school and smoking pot daily and has a bad temper where he throws chairs and punches holes in the wall. He is also being very disrespectful to his younger sister who is 15. Should I send him to his dad or am I quiting on him? Please help!

So you know that he smokes pot daily. How long has he been doing this? If he were mine, he'd lose most all activities outside of his own house. Usually if there's one drug, there are also others that they experiment with. If his dad is a good disciplinarian, send him there. The divorce was probably very hard on him, as they are on most kids. He's probably acting out because of it. I'll pray for him, and your family.

That's it? Doesn't seem like much... if it were MY kid... every single privilege would be gone and he'd be paying (or working off the cost w/ extra chores) to repair any damages... and he's likely be in counseling and/or some sort of drug program (like an AA sort of thing).

What have you done about the destruction of property and the failing grades?
