My son has nausea every morning and vomits about twice a week. This has been going on for about 6 months. He has lost 20+lbs. He is seeing a gastroenterologist, has had many tests and is now on the dreaded fodmap diet with no relief yet. I've read many forums about other teens experiencing this but have yet to read of any diagnosis. Would love to find out what others know about this.

Could it be stress related? How are things going at school? Weekends too?

Diabetes? Stress? Anxiety? Anorexia/Bulemia? God forbid something more serious. Have they done blood work?

Kidney/bladder/urology issues can cause this as well as anxiety and stress. Has he seen a nephrologist? It might be worth at least some bloodwork for kidney function

Could it be anxiety? Is something going on at school that he's not telling you about? My 6 year old has anxiety and often complains of stomach pains, I actually just went and heard someone speak on the side effects of anxiety. The body naturally has that fight or flight response which is normal but when someone has anxiety the body is in that constant fight or flight which has many effects on the body, how it digests food, bowel movements, sleep and many other things.
