I live in an area that does not have anything for youth to do, but get in trouble because there's nothing here. I want to start a organization that will provide trips to a adventures and camping, hunting, fishing, exhibits. Art, music and anything else we could provide for these youth to do things that will benefit their lives! If anyone has suggestions how to get started or things I can do or possibly help us get this started please help us! Thank you and God bless

Annie, check with BBBS. http://bbbsofnela.org/

In our area, in addition to the 'big' program, they have great assets for teens in the form of clubs, etc. They'd be a great place to help you get started.

Sara yes that is what I was thinking that or on something like a sliding fee scale and it would be for all ages.

Shawn, these things I do know about and we try as much as I can, but I am a single mother, I do not receive any support from the father or the state. I used to live in Az, and they had all kinds of programs to get him into, here it is very different the few programs they used to have, have been closed. I myself would love to start something new here for these children. Was really hoping if someone had ideas of how to get them started. Thank you for your advise. God bless

Annie,

I just did a quick search, and to be quite honest, my kids would be thrilled with the plethora of museums, galleries, etc...not to mention the hiking, camping, and other opportunities.

My other suggestion is that you get on mailing lists for things like club sports dates, etc.

When you mean nothing to do...what do you mean? Do you mean all ages, just teens and are you wanting to set up something that will be free?

Hmmm...I've never been in an area that had ABSOLUTELY NOTHING for kids to do...areas where there was nothing the kids WANTED to do, maybe...

Just out of curiosity, where about are you? That will narrow down some options.
