Whiskey... Just kidding.
Get some rubber teething rings. Cold will help numb the pain while the chewing will help the teeth come through the gums. A cold washcloth, cold water in a bottle, or rubbing your finger gently over the gums will help temporarily. Hard foods like a peeled bit of cucumber or carrot may help, but watch so that you child doesn't choke. Make sure you're wiping off drool and keeping their mouth clean so they don't get irritation around the mouth or develop an infection when the teeth break through the gums.
