How old is your baby? You should only give breast milk or formula until at least 6 months of age. After that it's okay to start on baby food or puree, but should still get most nutrition from breast milk or formula until 1 year.
Water, coconut water, or other liquids are not helpful to the baby. Infants fed excessive water will not receive adequate calories to meet their needs for growth and development. Even diluting your breast milk of formula to make it last longer can be harmful to the baby. Water intoxication is a potentially fatal condition that could result in seizures, brain damage, coma or death.
