I have a set of 2 yr old boy twins and we had to move them into twin beds because they were climbing out of their cribs. We bought beds and guard rails and have found that our normal nighttime routine has turned into almost a 2 hour process. The boys will get into bed and just roll and toss and stand up and jump and roll, etc. my husband and I now each get into a bed with them and rub their arms and backs until they fall asleep. The other night we went In and read books starting at 8, turned the lights out at 8:30 and didn't come out of their room until 10:30 when they had finally fallen asleep. I don't know what to do!!! I don't want to make sleeping a scary process and yell at them to sleep or scold them, but it is very frustrating. We tried one night to leave them in bed and walk out- they climbed right out of the beds, walked over to the door and stared banging and crying. I can't just leave them in there, it's too dangerous. I'm so frustrated- and I'm a stay at home and go through this entire process during naps too. Please help!!!
