Tetralogy of Fallot and the accuracy of prenatal Echocardiograms

Hi everyone, I am new to this site and wondering if anyone can help with my Tetralogy of Fallot question?

Our baby is due in March and at the 20 week scan was diagnosed with moderate TOF. Since then we have had 2 more echocardiograms and the last one (yesterday) the cardiologist said that the pulmonary artery had grown and it looked less severe than first thought - in fact he mentioned (before retracting!) that they may even only repair the VSD (hole in the heart).

My question for any of you who have gone on to have babies with TOF is that when your baby was born and had an echo after the birth - was the TOF less severe than originally thought based on the scans done when the baby was still in the womb?

We are probably clutching at straws of hope here but I am hoping that the scan after the birth will be less severe. Thanks for your help/advice!
