The best and worst at the same time

As a first time mom I was blessed with fraternal twins (boys) which is awesome. I live with my grandfather who raised me along with my grandmother (grandma passed away since Jr. high), and my wonderful husband. My grandfather is in his hospice care due to cancer, and has decided he does not want treatment or his life to be prolonged in any way. So far, he just wants a beer each day. I have never posted before and thought I would use this as an opportunity to vent and seek support from anyone who would like to share. Thank you.

I'm sorry to hear that you're going through this. It's a lot to deal with.

You might find this forum useful. It's a different website that just deals with cancer, and they have a forum specially for caregivers:,0,122.htm

Or if you look around, there are lots of online communities that focus on specific types of cancer. Most of those have sections for family and caregivers too.

Sometimes the choices people make at the end of their lives are really difficult to understand or to support. Every situation is different, but cancer treatment can be horrible, and some people justifiably don't want that to be how they spend their last days, weeks or months.
