I get it, Wendy, but my point is not all women have it that easy.

And, one should never advocate not seeing a physician for these types of changes, as many OTHER changes and problems could be occurring at the same time, and being masked by symptoms of what we think is menopause.

Always best to get this confirmed. Besides, at this point in our lives, we should be enduring annual physicals, bloodwork, mammograms and other necessary preventive appointments, so scheduling an appointment to discuss change of life would be appropriate.

Each to her own, of course, but I hate when people say "oh, just treat it yourself". Sometimes it's not that cut & dried, and a lot of problems that could have been prevented end up causing more trouble than they're worth.

Cheers!

I hear what Shawnn is saying but I would like to add....I have zero problems unless u count the hot flashes and night sweats, no big deal, no hormone meds needed here....why medicate when not necessary........just a thought...........

I would never advocate treating anything without seeing my doc.....im in Canada we have health care, easy enough to see one....I just assume everybody does also.......See doctor first for sure......

Really, this is a question for your physician.

Yes, at our age (mid 40's) we're ready to be done with menstrual cycles, but if you've just stopped menstruating, there also could be other causes than menopause.

Never believe the "oh they say" comments...because you don't know if 'they' are physicians, or psychos.

Besides that, a visit to your physician, if it confirms menopause as the culprit, will allow your physician to prescribe you appropriate levels of hormones, etc, to make the physiological change easier. (get rid of night sweats, & hot flashes)
