Ok the other post has gotten really long and the original question was "would you use one" and its denigrated to "is it right to use one"
I found this while browsing...
"Using adapted tests designed for human children, psychologists have learned that average dogs can count, reason and recognize words and gestures on par with a human 2 -year-old."
"He said the average dog can understand about 165 words, including signs, signals and gestures. They can also count to about 5, he said."
Knowing that - are you still going to keep your dog on a leash? I mean HOW DARE YOU? Its smarter than your toddler!
Dogs can figure and use logic according the article - some most dedicated pet owners already know. I mean seriously, any time a dog figures that opening a series of drawers will allow it walk up on to the counter easily to get into the cabinets above the counter - THEY CAN FIGURE.
Now dogs are just THAT smart. And yet we keep them on leashes, why? Becuase they aren't capable of understanding the consequences of EVERY action without some sort of reminder .. huh you mean like a safety harness?
