Today I woke up to a message on my msn asking me if I knew my 11 year old has a facebook account. So I did a little investigating, and sure enough she has a facebook account under a different last name than her own. Few moments later my daugther messages me from her fathers house, and this is how the conversation went...

I LOVE EDWARD!!!!XD says:

are you gonna cut my hair today?

Amanda says:

Why?

I LOVE EDWARD!!!!XD says:

cuz i want it cut for school

Amanda says:

Ah

do you know a joyce peter? Cause the police called here looking for a joyce peter, they said something about a facebook account. but i told them they must have the wrong house because my daugthers name is joyce *******, and she wouldnt dare have a facebook account when I told her it isnt allowed

I LOVE EDWARD!!!!XD says:

no

why were they looking for a joyce peter?

Amanda says:

I dont know I figured you would know (hint its a good idea not to lie to your mother)

I LOVE EDWARD!!!!XD says:

mom imma call you bye

She called shortly after, crying and scared out of her wits totally spilling the beans on her facebook account. After I said thank you for not lying, she says "why do you think the police were calling about that account" I had to admit my fib, and she started laffing and told me that I was a mean mom!

I`d take the computer away. Explain why she isn`t allowed an account and the dangers of the internet. I`d also delete the account right away.

That is very funny!!!! You sound like the sneaky mom that I am. When you are a mother of a teenager nowdays, you have to be creative!

ugh - that sucks. Right now the only computers he has access to are here. The schools computers block youtube, myspace and facebook among other sites.

Quoting Sharon:

N~I~C~E~!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I'm glad you were able to scare it out of her! I'd be tempted to beat the snot out of mine for hiding something like that!

But all our computers are in the livingroom - where I can walk up and check the history at any time. My oldest isn't allowed on facebook or myspace so if his computer has a history of those sites, he loses his computer.

I was tempted to beat it out of her too! LOL

We also keep our computers in the livingroom, but in this case she made the account at the boys and girls club, that explains her sudden interest in going swimming all the time. In the end of her conversation she ratted out her bestfriend also, to bad her bestfriend came clean to her parents over a month ago. Silly girls.
