This is for anyone who has had a c-section. How long afterwards was it that you had your period? My baby is almost 8 weeks old and I still have not had one. My Dr. said to just wait it out but I also have some other female problems as well. Just curious if anyone else has had the same issues.

I had a c-section and had my first period around 4-6 weeks after the initial weeks of bleeding. I breastfed exclusively so that made no difference (I remember being disappointed that my period was back so soon...lol).

OK, so after the initial bleeding, if you're breastfeeding it can be up to 8 months before you have another period- the wonders of breastfeeding! I have a 7 month old, and still no period. This is perfectly normal- and I had a c-section too.

Are you breast feeding? That will keep your period away for a while. I didn't get my period until four months after my first c-section and 9 months after my second c-section.

I am not breast feeding. I have polycystic ovarian syndrom and a large cyst on one of my overies and I had a postpartum hemmorage.

I too have that but they said to wait on my birth control until I started. Plus I had a post-partum hemmorage

My first period came around 6 months after my c-section. I also breastfed my child.

I had a c-section. My doctor went ahead and started me on birth control even though I hadn't had a period because I have polycystic ovarian syndrome and she didn't know when or if I would have a period. I did end up having bleeding around 7 1/2 weeks even though it wasn't the time for my period in my pill pack. So, I guess it was break through bleeding and it was pretty heavy. Not sure that will help you at all. But, I agree if you don't feel its normal then just stay on top of your doctor or maybe get another opinion. Good luck!

I guess each person is different. After the initial bleeding, it was maybe 2 or 3 months until i had my period because I was also breastfeeding.

mine came between 8- 9 weeks- I also have "other female problems" - severe endiometriosis- might have to have hysterectmy at age of 33- and my tubes are tied-- just keep on your doctor!- If you think this is not normal, than maybe go to another Dr.
