Okay, So My Last Period Came And It Was Like Really Dark Brown. You Could See A Bit Of Bright Red Blood, But Must Of It Was Just Dark Brown. Is This Old Blood? I Know This Is TMI But I Was Curious. Help?

Happens to a lot of women, myself included, it's just old blood. I read in a health mag a few years back that if your period is red or brown, (even if it's so dark that it looks black) it's perfectly normal and nothing to worry about, unless you're having very unusual symptoms with it. If your period is yellow or green, then you've got big trouble.

Do not worry that sometimes it happens. It used to happen to me also usually once a year. It is just what you call hormonal changes. Your next period will be normal but if it happens too often ( at least twice in a row) , it might be a cause of worry.

Thanks For The Info. So Far Girls! I'm Not On The Pill Nor Am I Sexually Active, So I Was Just Wondering If It Was Normal.

The best thing to consider doing is consult with your doctor. It is most likely "old blood" and nothing to worry about but only your doctor will be able to determine that. Good luck!

brownish blood is old blood and if you're on the pill (you never said) it is common to have it frequently. when i'm on the pill i have it just about every month because my cycle gets cut really short because of them so the blood doesn't all get cleared out before i'm starting my next pack of them. if you're not on the pill or anything else that would alter your cycle days a bit then you may want to check it out with the dr if it continues just to be sure. gl
