I have a question for you moms out there who have been there, done that. My 3-year-old has some major sensory issues. He hasn't officially been diagnosed with anything yet but we're awaiting an appointment with a developmental pediatrician. So this may best be a question for parents of Autistic kids.
So here it is: If he's awake, he's probably screaming. And by screaming, I mean he has a pitch that literally makes my ears ring! I have tried everything I can think of to get this behavior stopped, from putting him in his room or sitting him in a chair for time out, to telling him "NO!" very firmly but none of this seems to be working. I've come so close to smacking him when he lets out one of these ear-splitting screams that I have to put myself in time out more often than I'm proud to admit.
I'm an Old mama & my nerves are shot from this constant screaming. I'm a stay-at-home mom so this is an all-day every day ordeal as he doesn't normally take naps. This is a problem at church too when he's in Sunday School & those poor ladies are saints for putting up with him. Andy advice is welcome. :) Thank you ladies!
